Role of underground organic compounds in induced allelopathy

The project activities focuses on induced allelopathy, which is an ecological phenomenon of chemical interactions between plants whereby allelochemicals produced by an emitter plant positively or negatively interfere with the growth of a receiver plant. More specifically, one study the induction of allelopathy of a Poaceae by volatile and non-volatile signaling molecules emitted by a weed.

This project is a collaboration between the Laboratory of Chemistry of Natural Molecules and the Department of Herbology of Agroscope in Switzerland.
